On Monday, the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gave a 72-hour ultimatum to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, to release the report on the alleged vote-buying by Governor Dapo Abiodun and the All Progressives Congress (APC). The PDP Chairman, Sikirulahi Ogundele, made this demand during a press briefing in Abeokuta, the state capital. Despite the Independent National Electoral Commission declaring Abiodun the winner of the March 18, 2023 governorship election, the PDP’s candidate, Ladi Adebutu, who had taken the matter to the tribunal, also lodged a petition with the Inspector General of Police, accusing Abiodun of vote-buying and election violence.
