On Friday, the Nigerian naira experienced a decrease in value against the US dollar, with an exchange rate of N777.82 at the Investors and Exporters window. This represents a depreciation of 1.26% compared to the rate of N768.16 per dollar on Thursday. The open indicative rate, which serves as a reference, closed at N779.58 to the dollar on Friday.

During the day’s trading, the spot exchange rate reached a peak of N844 to the dollar before eventually settling at N777.82. However, some transactions saw the naira being sold for as low as N700 to the dollar.

At the Investors and Exporters window, a total of $77.99 million was traded on Friday.
