The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recruited 2,428 narcotic officers who are scheduled to commence their training on July 27. The names of the successful candidates have been posted on the agency’s website, according to a statement by Femi Babafemi, the director of media and advocacy for the NDLEA, in Abuja on Sunday.

The candidates recruited for the Narcotic Officers Basic Cadet training are required to proceed to the NDLEA Academy in Jos for their training. On the other hand, narcotic agents and assistants will undergo training at the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) College of Peace and Disaster Management in Katsina.

The successful candidates are instructed to report for training at their respective designated centers as per their groupings and on dates assigned to their groups. For the basic cadet training, reporting is expected to begin on July 27, while the narcotic assistants will start their training in Katsina from August 12, 2023.

Candidates are required to bring original and photocopies of their credentials, including their National Identification Number (NIN) and the printout of their NDLEA online application reference slip, among other documents. It is emphasized that any candidate who fails to report by 6:00 p.m. on their assigned dates will be disqualified.

Furthermore, pregnant female candidates will not be allowed to participate in the training, and drug integrity and pregnancy tests will be conducted at various times during the training process.
