Adegboyega Adefarati, the chairman of the House committee on labour, employment, and productivity, appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to postpone its planned nationwide strike set for August 2. He urged the NLC to continue negotiations with the federal government instead of resorting to protests, emphasizing the importance of dialogue for development. Adefarati also urged the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) to call off their strike, considering the impact on the public’s welfare. The NLC had issued demands to the government, threatening indefinite strike action if not met.
