Abdullahi Ganduje, the current national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has provided assurance of enhanced and more streamlined internal mechanisms within the party.

Mr. Ganduje also committed to strengthening party structures across various states in the country.

Felix Morka, the national publicity secretary of the party, conveyed that Mr. Ganduje, the former governor of Kano State, made these commitments during the 128th National Working Committee (NWC) meeting of the party held in Abuja on Tuesday.

At the conclusion of the closed-door NWC meeting, Mr. Morka briefed journalists, noting that despite the concise agenda, the meeting covered significant topics.

Mr. Ganduje assumed the position of APC national chairman during the party’s 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on August 3, succeeding Abdullahi Adamu following his resignation.

Additionally, Senator Ajibola Bashir was appointed as the party’s national secretary after the resignation of Iyola Omisore.

Mr. Morka mentioned that consultations were ongoing to fill the remaining vacant roles within the NWC, resulting from the departure of its national legal adviser and the national vice-chairman (North), Salihu Lukman, and others.

“We deliberated on the constitution of the full council for the off-season elections in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states, as well as how to structure a national campaign council for each state,” he said.

He further explained that the meeting discussed criteria for assembling individuals to populate these councils, ensuring ample support for the State Campaign Councils.

The meeting also focused on revitalizing the party’s resources to ensure success in upcoming elections, according to Mr. Morka.

He revealed that the meeting provided Mr. Ganduje and Mr. Bashir with updates on the party’s financial status, fostering unity among all members of the NWC.

“We addressed some internal matters, system-related issues, and ways to enhance our internal processes to maintain effectiveness and efficiency. This pertains not only to resource utilization but also time management and prioritization,” Mr. Morka emphasized.

Mr. Bashir added that under Mr. Ganduje’s leadership, the APC would be repositioned to offer support to President Bola Tinubu’s administration, the party’s governors, and its lawmakers.
