Dino Melaye, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kogi State Governorship election on November 11, urged voters in the state not to let the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), intimidate them. Melaye conveyed this message after a meeting between Kogi PDP stakeholders from the state’s three Senatorial Districts and the National Working Committee members.

He emphasized that the people of Kogi State should not be discouraged by threats, violence, or humiliation from the APC and should exercise their democratic rights without fear. Melaye assured the people that the PDP would safeguard them.

Melaye noted that the current situation in Kogi State was dire, with widespread impoverishment, unpaid salaries, pensions, and gratuities, and a struggling healthcare and education system. He expressed confidence that the PDP would win the election in the state, aiming to improve these conditions.

He mentioned that the meeting aimed to address challenges and work towards reconciliation in preparation for the upcoming election. The reconciliation process would encompass three stages: ward, local government, and state levels. Melaye also highlighted that the Chairman of the Kogi Campaign Committee, Ademola Adeleke, would engage with stakeholders across different zones, campaigning and fulfilling his responsibilities effectively.
