William Kumuyi, the founder of the Deeper Life Bible Church, has expressed his belief that President Bola Tinubu and his cabinet members will be instrumental in the positive development of Nigeria. He has also encouraged Nigerians to refrain from criticizing every action taken by government officials.

Kumuyi shared these thoughts with reporters on Tuesday ahead of his church’s monthly global crusade, which is set to take place on Thursday in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state.

“Let’s move beyond the past. This is a fresh opportunity, and I have faith – we all have faith – that we are on the brink of witnessing transformative changes for our nation through our president and the cabinet members. Positive occurrences will unfold,” Kumuyi stated.

He further elaborated, “When we assess the new ministers individually, we can see their track records of accomplishments, whether as past state governors or former ministers. They have been chosen with care. If we lend our support without perpetually critiquing their every move, we have confidence that God will work through them, employing them as instruments to advance our nation.”

Kumuyi also expressed his belief that “God will perform miracles within the hearts of our leaders, aligning their intentions with the welfare of the people. The wisdom to guide us and undertake actions that will benefit our nation will be granted by the Lord himself.”

Kumuyi’s comments generated various reactions on Tuesday. While some praised the respected cleric, others criticized him for urging Nigerians to back President Bola Tinubu, who is currently facing legitimacy challenges at the presidential election petition tribunal.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party are both contesting Mr. Tinubu’s victory, citing reasons such as his alleged involvement in drug trafficking in the U.S. during the 90s and his failure to secure 25 percent of the vote in the Federal Capital Territory.

Kumuyi’s consistent stance has been to advocate for prayers and support for all levels of government in Nigeria, based on his conviction that all authorities are established by God.
